Who is eligible to vote?

All students enrolled at KIT are eligible to vote – whether you're in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program. You must be listed in the voter registry as of the deadline (June 6, 2025). You can check your status in our election portal.

When does the election take place?

The election takes place during the week of July 21 to July 25. Exact opening hours of the ballot boxes can be found in the ballot box overview.

Where and how can I vote?

You can vote at various ballot box locations across campus. You can cast your vote there in person or apply for a postal vote in advance.

What do I need in order to vote?

Your valid student ID – and a few minutes of your time.

What exactly is being elected?

You are voting for the Student Parliament (StuPa) and the student faculty boards.

How does postal voting work?

You can apply for it online. The voting documents will be sent to you by post. Make sure to meet the deadlines so your vote counts.

When will the election results be published?

The results will be published here on the website after the election week ends.

How can I learn about the candidates?

As soon as the candidate lists are published, you'll find all relevant information here – for example, in the Wahlventil or via the Stupa-o-mat tool.

Why is my vote important?

Because it lets you help shape your student body. Every vote counts!

Is there a way to get more information about the election on campus?

Yes – there will be information material available at the ballot boxes.

What happens if I don’t vote?

Then you’re leaving the decisions to others – and that might not turn out how you’d like.

Can I withdraw or change my vote?

No. The vote is secret and final. So think carefully about who you give your vote to.

Yes – the election is secret.

How does the Stupa-o-mat work?

The Stupa-o-mat helps you find candidates whose views match yours. It will be available online shortly before the election.
